| 2002 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ($350) | Rating: DD Oct 20th, 2006 |
Best Wine - October, 2006 Best Wine of 2006
Smells toasty, like a Bordeaux wine with a long finish. A very balanced wine and not mouth bursting like the other wines. Araujo wines are always excellent and 2002 is no different. Best wine of the day (and night). |
| 1995 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Magnum) ($250) | Rating: D Nov 11th, 2004 |
| Rich and tasty - great colour, legs and a fruity nose. Wonderful balanced fruit on the palate, with juicy tannins that flow through a long finish. Excellent wine, tasted at a wine dinner - price estimated. |
| 1992 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ($200) | Rating: C-D Nov 12th, 2004 |
| Tasted in a restaurant as part of a mini vertical, after tasting the 95 the night before. Smooth, full bodied with wonderful nose that you could soak in for hours. The wine has a fine balance of fruit flavours that just roll off the tongue and the finish stays with you until the next taste - the winner ont he night, but beaten by the 95. |
| 1993 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ($200) | Rating: C-D Nov 12th, 2004 |
| Tasted in a restaurant as part of a mini vertical, after tasting the 95 the night before. Another incredible wine, although we had to send the first bottle back due to being corked. More of the same from the 92, lots of fruit and balance with earthy undertones. A long finis, but not as epic as the 92. |
| 1994 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ($200) | Rating: C-D Nov 12th, 2004 |
| Tasted in a restaurant as part of a mini vertical, after tasting the 95 the night before. So hard to choose, and we expected this to be the winner, but the 92 was more mouth filling that the 94. That said, I could happily drink this every day for ever. Layers of fruits, finely balanced tannins and a yummy finish. |
| 2005 Altagracia ($100) | Rating: C Aug 7th, 2008 |
| Araujo's second wine (Cabernet Sauvignon) with many of the same characteristics, but not as much depth as the Eisele. Great fruit, very smooth, balanced tannins and a lingering finish - excellent, and will improve over time |
