1165 Rutherford Road, Rutherford, CA Tasting Fees: Charter or Cabernet Tasting - $20 for 6 wines Started a few years ago by husband and wife, Elizabeth Spencer wines is housed in an old brick building near the Rutherford Grill. They purchase grapes from a selection of vineyards around the valley. Focusing mostly on Cabernet, but also offer Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrahs. The wines are offered along with light snacks - Duck confit and toast, mostly of the Cabs poured from decanted Magnums. We were entertained by Ashley who gave us the history on the owners, and each of the wines tasted. Very friendly and accommodating with an excellent range of wines. Worth a repeat visit. |

Best wine at the winery. Good plumy nose and fruit on the palate. Hints of lighter berries on the tongue, with a smooth balanced finish of fruit and tannins. |
