| 2001 Cardinale Cabernet Sauvignon ($120) | Rating: C-D Jul 10th, 2005 |
| 75% Cab, 25% Merlot. Excellent. Definitely the best wine of the winery and at the same price as the '98 and '00, definitely the best value. This wine is very complex with a big finish. It should hold for years. |
| 2000 Cardinale Cabernet Sauvignon ($120) | Rating: C Jul 10th, 2005 |
| 75% Cab, 25% Merlot. A nicer finish than the 1998, this is a complex, good wine. |
| 1998 Cardinale Cabernet Sauvignon ($120) | Rating: B-C Jul 10th, 2005 |
| 84% Cab, 16% Merlot. Very soft yet still fruity, this wine is drinking well right now. |
| 2000 Atalon Mountain Estate Merlot ($45) | Rating: B-C Jul 10th, 2005 |
| The 2000 Mountain Estate had just been released when we were visiting (July 2005). It has a very nice finish which will last quite a few years but is "missing flavor upfront". This wine is "all finish" |
| 2001 Atalon Keyes Vineyard Merlot ($60) | Rating: B-C Jul 10th, 2005 |
| The Keyes Vineyard is 100% merlot from Howell Mountain in Napa. It's a nice, smooth merlot yet was still "missing something". Dave found it "softer". A nice wine. |
| 2001 Atalon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($35) | Rating: B-C Jul 10th, 2005 |
| A light Cabernet with nice upfront flavor yet not much of a finish. This wine is still very young. |
| 2001 Atalon Napa Valley Merlot ($25) | Rating: B Jul 10th, 2005 |
| Ian tasted raspberries. I got a slightly metallic finish. An average merlot, not good value, but drinkable. |
